A bit earlier what happened is that for posting gifs on facebook you had to make your own gif file on your device. And after creating it you had to upload it to giphy or somewhere similar and then connect or link it to the facebook. But now you do not have to do all these things and can directly post any gif that you want to. All you have to do is to just select the gif from gifs icon as the gifs are now directly present on facebook. But remember in some situations you have to follow the earlier method also.

Here we are telling you the complete process or you can say steps that you need to follow in order to post a gif on the facebook. You can add gifs anywhere you want to either while commenting on anyone’s profile picture or while posting it as your status on the home page or while posting.   1. Firstly, create your comment or post whatever you want to upload.
  2. After doing that you have to tap the small gray GIF icon which is present in the input box.
  3. Now choose any gif from trending GIFs or you can also search for one in the search bar at the top.
  4. Now just tap on the gif that you want to add in your post or comment.

Usually, there are already pre-selected trending GIFs available in the gif icon and from where you can choose any gif. For getting more gifs you will have to Scroll down the box. There are unlimited gifs present in that box. And hence, for selecting a gif as per your preference we would recommend you to simply search it directly from the search option.

Posting a gif in your status in facebook

So if you are uploading a status and you want to add a gif to it you can do that also. But for that you will have to follow the same old process,you just cannot directly add a gif in your status. You will have to create a gif by your own and then have to upload it to any third party site that is giphy or imgur. And after that just link it into your status.
